If I had to use one word to describe this show, it would be "spectacular"! And what better ending to a perfect day, than to have a Birman win Overall Cat of the Day!? Congratulations to Norma and Chris Boshoff, and their absolutely stunning new imported blue point kitten KANDAHA'S SARIKA STORM BOY. Congratulations also to Liz Robinson of Australia for breeding this beauty!

Thank you Chris for taking photos for us under not so perfect lighting conditions - you did a wonderful job. Thank you to our Gauteng members for yet again bringing down the "Birman Temple" and to all the cats that did temple duty to promote the Birman! Thank you Chris for the wonderful slide-show you put together - you're the best.

A very big thank you also to all our loyal supporters in South Africa and abroad. All our best of breed and best in show rosettes were sponsored by local breeders and exhibitors. Thank you to the Persian Cat Society's committee for allowing us yet again to run our show under their auspices and for helping us put everything together - we could not do this without you! Sheila - you were a star taking care of all the lunches and running around getting everything together for us. Karen who made more toasted sandwiches than ever before in her life - thank you for running our tuck shop yet again - your hard work is very much appreciated. Thanks to the many people who stepped in to help out at the gate - you know who you are. To our younger helpers - Zandra, Meghan and Christopher - thank you for always helping out at the shows. Thank you Kaai for doing a great job with the P.A. during Best in Show… Thanks Ronnel for helping with our pre-show advertising. The awards table - Alison and Anette - well done! Thank you to the Westville Boys High School for yet again allowing us to use their wonderful school. Dil, your rosettes were stunning as always - thank you also for the many freebies! To our 10 judges and many stewards - you all did a marvelous job!

To our exhibitors, some who came from as far as Cape Town, thank you for bringing your lovely cats to our show - we are honoured to have had them here with us. And finally to the cats - thank you for putting up with us all!

With a record entry of 160 cats, this was one of the biggest shows in the area for quite some time. 18 Birmans were entered, with 14 present on the day. We also had a spectacular line-up of 9 white Persians, as well as some of the rarer breeds such as the Ragdoll, Scottish Fold, Norwegian Forest Cat and Bombay.

We hope everyone enjoyed the show as much as we did, and hope to see you all back in Durban soon!
